Alinta Energy says thanks a million Australia with $100,000 donation to The Salvos

Alinta Energy welcomed its millionth customer this month and today thanked its customers by making a $100,000 donation on their behalf to The Salvation Army, to help those doing it tough this winter.
The donation will be spread across The Salvos’ state and local branches in WA, the Latrobe Valley in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia.
Alinta Energy’s Executive Director of Retail Markets, Jim Galvin, said he wanted to pass on thanks to the company’s customers from the its 700 employees, who are hosting morning teas at the company’s sites around the country today to raise further funds for The Salvos.
“We recognise that customers have a choice of energy provider, and we’d like to thank our customers in Western Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland for choosing Alinta Energy.
“It’s a great privilege to supply essential services to more than a million Aussie families, and it’s also terrific to be able to give something back to a wonderful organisation like The Salvation Army,” he said.
The Salvation Army’s Corporate Partnerships Manager Jill Summers said the organisation was thrilled with the generous donation.
“It’s going to go such a long way, whether that’s giving people a hot meal on Christmas day, helping a young person pass their driving test, putting a young person through school, or helping a family that are struggling to pay their bills,” she said.
