Is this the home of the future? Land is always at a premium, and with increased populations needing a place to live and food to eat, maybe people will start living on the ocean.
Before you start remembering scenes from Kevin Costner’s Waterworld, take a look at how the Italian Company Jet Capsule are developing their Unidentified Floating Object and envisioning it as a “living floating house”.
Powered by 40 square metres of solar panels , plus optional wind and water turbines, this energy system is designed to make the home completely self sufficient, powering the home and also the motor. A water generator would be used for converting rain or seawater to fresh drinking water, as well as watering a vegetable garden located on the deck that encircles the living sphere.
The interior consists of a kitchen and dining/living area on the top level, with stairs leading down to a submerged lower level with bathroom and bedroom surrounded by a large window for viewing sea life.
With an ever changing view and endless supply of food, water and energy, who wouldn’t want to live on the ocean? Maybe only those who are a bit seasick.
