Alinta Energy on the hunt for 150 more employees to join Morwell contact centre

Alinta Energy has filled around a third of roles at its new customer contact centre in Morwell since announcing the setting up of the centre in January.

Amanda Hagan, Alinta Energy’s Executive Director of Retail Markets, said the company is on the hunt for around 150 additional employees to join by the end of the year.

“We’re looking for 150 people who have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, have exceptional communication skills, and are looking to kickstart a career in a call centre environment

“These are great jobs with competitive benefits and salaries, working with a lovely team at the site and beyond.

“Sometimes people ask me, ‘what sort of career could I have working in the contact centre’?

“I think they’re surprised when I tell them our Managing Director and CEO Jeff Dimery started his working life working in a contact centre at a water utility.

“If you develop your ability to communicate well with customers, understand how the most important relationship we have (with our customers) contributes to the bigger picture, and bring an empathetic and compassionate attitude to your work – you will go a long, long way in life,” she said.

Alinta Energy is currently hiring for roles including Customer Service Representatives, Team Leaders and support roles such as Forecasting Analysts and Training Specialists. All current vacancies are listed on the company’s careers page, where prospective candidates can find out more and apply.

The company is interested in candidates from across the broader region and welcomes applications from anyone who meets the basic hiring criteria and can commute to Morwell.

The contact centre is based at Federation University’s brand-new Morwell Innovation Centre. Alinta Energy is currently putting the finishing touches on the interior for the office, which will provide employees with a beautifully designed and comfortable place to work.
