Signing up to Alinta Energy is easy. We take care of everything with no disruption to your supply. Here’s a step-by-step guide of what to expect:

1. Sign up

It takes just a few minutes to sign up to Alinta Energy – you can either sign up online here or you can call 1300 097 990. All you’ll need on hand is a form of personal identification, like your driver's license, Medicare card, or passport.

2. We’ll take care of everything

There is no need to contact your previous retailer. We’ll send you a welcome pack in the post and we’ll also give you a quick call to confirm your details and preferred payment option.

3. Make sure you’re happy

Once your welcome pack arrives, you have a 10-business day cooling-off period to ensure you’ve made the right decision.

4. Meter reading

After your cooling off period has ended, we’ll notify your network distributor (they own the poles and wires) to read your meter.  This can take anywhere from 10 to 90 days depending on when you last had it read.

5. Welcome aboard

Once your meter has been read, your energy account will transfer to Alinta Energy. We’ll send you a confirmation message and you’ll also receive a final bill from your previous energy retailer.

6. You’re in good hands

Once you have received a final bill from your retailer and the transfer is complete, your next energy bill will be from Alinta Energy and we’ll look after your home energy needs from then on.
