Supporting initiatives that Perth and the wider Western Australian community care about

Alinta Energy was born in Western Australia, and our purpose goes beyond supplying gas, as we continue to connect and contribute to the WA community.

At Alinta Energy we power more than a million homes and businesses across the country, but our foundation is in Western Australia. For the past 30 years we've been powering the people, places and moments that Western Australians are proud of and passionate about.

Embedded in the community

We generate energy right here in WA and we hire local people to serve their communities, but our purpose goes beyond gas supply. We enable Western Australians to live, create, connect and contribute in ways that reflect their passions and pride.

As the state's incumbent energy provider, we thrive when WA thrives.

Community grants program

Our community grants program helps fund not-for-profit, grassroots organisations to keep our communities safe, inclusive and vibrant. We're providing up to $25,000 to each of these causes, with a focus on socio-economic disadvantage and environmental sustainability.

Christmas Pageant

We remember the excitement of watching the Christmas Pageant as kids, and now we're happy to call it the Alinta Energy Christmas Pageant as we light up one of WA's proudest traditions. Every year we're thrilled to bring the magic of Christmas to Perth for big and little kids to enjoy.

Rottnest Island and beyond

Volunteers from our Perth office have been involved in conservation action at Rottnest Island (Wadjemup) to safeguard something unique to WA. It's essential that we continue to give back to the regions in which we operate.

Sustainable energy for Australia

Our support for net zero hasn't wavered, but we know it'll take time and money to build the necessary intrastructure. The most affordable and reliable route to net zero is blended energy - a mix of renewables, coal and gas.

During this transitition, our focus on sustainability has seen some exciting achievements. We've developed Australia's first grid-forming battery, built the Yandin Wind Farm - one of Western Australia's largest and most efficient wind farms - and created one of the country's largest remote solar farms.

As we look to the future, our development pipeline includes over $10 billion of renewable and storage initiatives. It's a strategy designed to keep us at the forefront of the energy transition, while providing the best possible energy outcomes for our customers.
