Default Rates – Large Business
Default rates are applicable in VIC, NSW, ACT, QLD, SA only
In accordance with Clause 18.2 of the National Gas Supply Agreement Terms and Conditions, the following default Prices apply from 1 May 2022 until further notice

Please note: In addition to the default Price, you will be charged other applicable prices which include GST, fixed Charges, retail service charges, pass through charges, market charges and any other cost incurred or payable by Alinta Energy in relation to the supply of gas to you.
The applicable default Price for the relevant period and location set out above is payable if you’re a ‘Large Customer’ under Australian gas laws, being a customer who consumes over one (1) terajoule of gas per annum at a delivery point per year and you are supplied by Alinta Energy without an agreed charge because:
- You previously entered into a gas supply agreement with Alinta Energy for the purchase of gas for a delivery point at an agreed gas charge, which has now expired or terminated and you have not entered into a new agreement with Alinta Energy or with another gas retailer; or
- You have not entered into any agreement with a gas retailer for the supply of gas for a delivery point and Alinta Energy is financially responsible for gas delivered to that delivery point under Australian gas laws
In accordance with Clause 5 of the Electricity Retail Sale Agreement dated June 2022 or clause 17.5 of the Electricity Supply Agreement dated May 2023, the following default Prices apply from 1 July 2024 until further notice.

Terms of Supply to Large Business Customers in the NEM without a Retail Sale Agreement
Large Business rates
The Large Business standard gas price applies to business customers out of contract consuming > 1000 GJ (1 TJ) per annum. Alinta Energy can specifically design a plan and tailor a set of gas rates to suit your business needs.

Our large business Default electricity price applies to Large Customers (as defined under Australian electricity laws) who are out of contract and consuming more than 160MWh per annum. Customers who were on the Electricity Supply Agreement dated May 2023 can view the rates here.

Bundled
Regulated Business Tariff
The Regulated business Tariff is available to all contestable Large electricity customers.
There are two rate options based on your business' usage: an Anytime rate and Time of Use rate.
Anytime rates: You pay a flat daily supply charge and the same rate for electricity, no matter what time of the day. To qualify, your business must use less than 35% of its electricity during off peak-hours.
Time of Use rates: You pay a flat daily supply charge, but you'll pay a lower rate for using electricity during off-peak hours. To qualify, your business uses more than 35% of its electricity during off-peak hours.
- Peak: 8:00 am - 10:00 pm, Monday to Friday
- Off-Peak: 10.01 pm - 7:59 am, weekdays; all day on Saturday and Sunday
