Small Business Saver

  • Dedicated local account manager - direct access to your very own account manager for their help and energy expertise
  • You will be assigned either Anytime or Time of Use electricity rates based on your usage. To qualify for Anytime rates, your business must use less than 35% of its electricity during off-peak hours, while Time of Use rates require using more than 35% during those times.

The Small Business Saver plan offers discounts on gas and electricity for your business if you stay for the contract term. You can choose gas, electricity or both. The Small Business Saver is a non-standard contract.

Your business is eligible if:

  • you are a business customer;
  • for electricity, you are a contestable customer and use more than 50 MWh per year.

You can choose a one, two or three-year contract. Before your plan ends, your account manager will contact you to consult on the best renewal options for your business. Choosing to renew means you continue to access discounted rates, if not, our applicable standard Rates will apply.

In Western Australia, electricity use is split between peak and off-peak hours. Using less energy during peak times can lower your bill.

  • Peak: 8:00 am - 10:00 pm, Monday to Friday
  • Off-peak: 10:01 pm - 7:59 am, weekdays; all day on Saturday and Sunday

Yes, there is a 10-business day cooling-off period according to Australian Consumer Law. We won't supply electricity and/or gas during this period unless you request it.

You'll need to notify Alinta Energy within 30 days of the settlement date to close your account to give us time to issue a final invoice. The new business owner has three options:

  1. Transfer the existing agreement to the new business owner with consent from both parties.
  2. Opt for our standard applicable rates, supplied under our Standard Form Contract.
  3. Choose another retailer.

If you terminate your Small Business Saver plan before the contract end date, you will lose the discount on your energy bills.

  • Gas: You will incur an early termination charge, calculated based on the applicable standard Rates published on Alinta Energy's website. This charge applies to the gas consumed between the start date and the termination date of your contract.
  • Electricity: You will incur an early termination charge, calculated based on the applicable standard Rates published on Alinta Energy's website. This charge applies to the electricity consumed between the start date and the termination date of your contract.

The early termination charges for gas and/or electricity apply to the gas and/or electricity that would have been supplied by Alinta Energy to the customer for the duration of the contract. These are charges incurred by Alinta Energy as a direct result of the customer's failure to remain for the full contractual term.

(^) If the Customer terminates the contract for convenience before the End Date, the Customer will be liable for Early Termination Charges under this offer.

(*) If selling your business, to avoid any additional charges, you must provide us with proof of sale within 30 days of the settlement date.

(* *) We do not currently offer tailored gas pricing in Albany and Kalgoorlie, due to the high supply cost to these areas.
