Bonus credit terms and conditions

Eligibility criteria

  1. To be eligible for a bonus credit on one of our selected plans (listed in section 3 below):

1.1 You must sign up a new electricity or gas account on the selected plan; or if you're an existing customer;

a. moving home - you must open a new electricity or gas account; or

b. otherwise opening a new electricity or gas account:

i. for an additional property, or

ii. to your existing supply address; and 

1.2 You must remain on the selected plan for one full billing cycle. The bonus credit will then be applied on your first bill.

Your billing cycle is either monthly or quarterly. If you have a smart meter, your billing cycle is set to monthly. You can choose to switch to quarterly billing via MyAccount or by contacting us (and if so, you will be eligible for the bonus credit after the initial billing cycle of one month has passed). If you have a basic electricity meter, your billing cycle is quarterly (3 months). The billing cycle for gas plans is quarterly. Your billing cycle will appear in your Contract Summary and on your MyAccount.

Further conditions

  1. Bonus credit is not transferable or redeemable for cash.
  2. Bonus credit amounts vary by state, electricity plan or gas plan. Enter your postcode to see which electricity and/or gas plans in your area include a bonus credit.

  • HomeDeal Extra (NSW)
  • HomeDeal Advantage (SA)
Small Business Electricity plans:
  • BusinessDeal Max (NSW)
  • BusinessDeal Go (VIC)
  • BusinessDeal Max (QLD)

Frequently asked questions

No, to receive the bonus credit, you must remain on the selected plan until one full billing cycle is completed and your first bill is issued. If you switch to a different plan before then, you won't be eligible for the bonus credit.

Yes, you can receive one bonus credit for each eligible new electricity and/or gas account at a different property address. Each account must meet the eligibility criteria, and credits are limited to one per account every 12 months.

No extra steps are needed - the credit is applied automatically to your first bill, as long as you sign up an eligible new account on an eligible plan and stay on the plan until your first bill is issued.

No, the bonus credit will not affect any government concessions or rebates you are eligible for. These will continue to be applied separately to your account.
