If you're eligible and join the Solar Together Program, there is no set duration or end date. While the solar assets do have depreciation schedules, there are options to leave this program, buy the system or change energy plans.
If the circumstances for your property change, Alinta Energy also has the right to remove you from the program, with 3 months' notice.
The National Renewable Network (NRN) is an Australian energy infrastructure company dedicated to making renewable energy accessible and affordable for all. That’s why they’re the perfect partner for the Solar Together Program, with whom we’ve been working since 2023. NRN will provide their systems and expertise to ensure the best solar and battery package is installed to suit your home. The first step to getting started is to book a phone consultation with one of their experts.
There are several energy market dynamics which come into play depending on the amount of electricity that is being supplied to the grid and electricity demand. Alinta Energy will look to manage these scenarios to maximise efficiencies, which could mean using the solar generated electricity for your home, storing it in the battery, or even stopping solar generation for a short period to protect the grid when there is excessive supply.
Your solar system is covered by a Services and Maintenance Agreement with NRN, which will monitor your solar system to ensure optimal performance. If you stay in the Solar Together Program, these services are provided to you at no extra cost.
We understand that circumstances can change, and you may decide to end your agreement with NRN. There are options available to you and a termination fee may apply. Please speak to NRN directly about this.
Having a solar and battery system could increase the desirability of your house. If you move or sell, you have a few options:
- You can buy out the system at any time.
- If you are renting the property out, you can pass the benefits onto your tenants by signing a new occupier agreement.
You can buy the solar assets at any time and the price will be based on a depreciation schedule, which means that the solar assets will become cheaper as they get older. This also gives you the chance to try the benefits of solar before you invest.
The Solar Together Program doesn't include a solar feed-in tariff when you are generating solar.
You don't exactly get free electricity - your exclusive Solar Together plan gives you simple rates that cover all the electricity you use, whether it's from your solar panels, battery, or the grid.
