Gas on Guarantee

Gas on Guarantee – if your gas is not connected by 11:59pm local time on the agreed move-in date you may be eligible to claim a $100 credit on your Alinta Energy natural gas account, subject to the terms and conditions set out below.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • You must ensure that:
    • you give Alinta Energy at least one full business day’s notice prior to your move in date in order for us to connect gas at your premises; and
    • you provide us with the correct address and connection date information.
  • The $100 credit is a one-off credit to your Alinta Energy residential gas account and is limited to one per household per move.
Eligibility criteria
  • Residential customers who arrange a gas connection from one residential property to another residential property directly through Alinta Energy.
  • A gas connection can be arranged by calling Alinta Energy Monday to Friday 8.00am - 6.00pm and Saturdays 8am to 12pm WST on 13 13 58 and providing at least one full business day’s notice prior to your move in date.
Gas on Guarantee – exceptions:

The Gas on Guarantee does not apply in the following circumstances:

  • The gas meter at the property is locked.
  • The gas meter at the property has been disconnected at the regulator.
  • The gas meter at the property has been removed.
  • There is no meter connected at the new property, or the meter is not in working order, or the meter is non-compliant.
  • If you provide an incorrect address or connection date information to us or  the gas was already connected on the agreed move-in date.
  • If Alinta Energy is not able to connect the gas to the premises for safety or compliance reasons.
  • The network operator or the market operator does not allow the connection.
  • You do not have a legal right to arrange a gas connection at the property.
  • Delays and circumstances beyond Alinta Energy’s control (for example extreme weather, natural disasters).
Making a claim for $100 credit
  1. If you consider that Alinta Energy has not met its Gas on Guarantee then please lodge your credit request at customer.services@alintaenergy.com.au. A request for credit must be lodged within 14 days of your requested move in date, failing which, the credit will be forfeited by you.
  2. If your credit request is successful the credit will be applied to your next bill(s) until the credit is fully redeemed.  Should your account be closed prior to the credit being fully redeemed, the remaining credit will be forfeited. Credits are not transferable or redeemable for cash. Limit one credit per household, per move. If your credit request is not successful we will respond as soon as reasonably practicable explaining the reasons why.
  3. Alinta Energy reserves the right to vary or withdraw the Gas On Guarantee offer at any time, by posting updated terms and conditions on our website.  The changes will apply to connections requested on and from the date the changes are published.
  4. This Gas On Guarantee is provided to the customer in addition to any other warranty, right, remedy or consumer guarantee implied by any applicable law which is non-excludable.
