With up to 25% off electricity reference prices in NSW (in the Ausgrid distribution area), and up to 19% off in Victoria (in the CitiPower distribution area), Alinta Energy’s new HomeDeal rates, launched this week, will make customers the winners from falling energy prices.
Alinta Energy’s General Manager of Sales and Marketing, Jane Mills, said the new rates were the company’s highest advertised percentage off reference prices since the introduction of reference pricing (which allows for an apples for apples comparison with other retailers and similar offers).
“We’re in an environment where wholesale electricity prices are falling, and we are going to compete hard for customers off the back of that.
“This is a great time for customers to shop around for a better deal. For anyone who hasn’t reviewed their energy deal this year, or even in the last couple of years, my advice is get onto it because it’s much more likely that a quick phone call is going to net you some great savings.
“Our new HomeDeal rates are available to new customers signing up via web or phone, or to existing customers who would like to review their plan via phone,” she said.
Alinta Energy is also slashing rates for small businesses with its new BusinessDeal rates, with up to 26% off the electricity reference price in NSW (in the Ausgrid distribution area), and 15% off the Victorian Default Offer (in the CitiPower distribution area). The retailer has also launched small business gas products across New South Wales, South Australia and South East Queensland with Victoria soon to follow on the 14th December 2020.
