Bushfire Support

Our thoughts are with all those who have been impacted by the bushfire emergency. We’d also like to thank the emergency services who are working tirelessly to protect communities, lives and wildlife across multiple parts of the East Coast and across Australia. If you’ve been affected by any of the recent bushfires, please know that we’re here to support you. Your immediate focus needs to be on your safety, not on your power bills.

For our customers in affected areas

We’ve been pausing bills and debt collection notices for customers in affected areas since the bushfires began in late November. Since then, everyday we’ve been monitoring the spread of the bushfire emergency and are adding more recently affected communities to that list.

For those customers that were previously affected but are now no longer under threat, we’ll automatically restart our regular communications with you once we receive advice from the state fire authorities.

For any of our customers experiencing hardship directly due to the bushfires or for any other reason, we’re here to support you. Please click here to submit an enquiry form on our website and make sure you choose “Customer impacted by bushfire” under Enquiry type and we will get in touch with you as soon as we can. For those who have lost homes or businesses

We’re deeply sorry that you’re experiencing such unimaginable loss or damage due to the bushfires. Please contact us on 13 37 02 when it is appropriate for you and we’ll look to provide immediate assistance, including the waiver of any existing charges remaining on your account.

For volunteer firefighters

Your dedication to protect lives, homes, businesses, wildlife and entire communities across New South Wales, South Australia, Queensland and Victoria has been relentless. To say thank you, we’re offering a $200 credit (for more details see below) to be applied to your Alinta Energy account.

Simply fill out an enquiry form and we’ll get in contact with you with the details. Please make sure to choose “Volunteer Firefighter” as the Enquiry type and include your Alinta Energy Customer Account Number and your Volunteer ID Number for the state fire service you are apart of.

For volunteer firefighters from Western Australia

The process is slightly different for our volunteer firefighters from WA who are assisting in battling the bushfires across the country. We’ve also extended this offer of credit to you but please contact us on 13 13 58 or email on customer.services@alintaenergy.com.au

*For our Volunteer Firefighters

  • We will apply a $200 credit (including GST) on your next bill. This can be transferred to either your gas or electricity account on request. For WA customers, this will be applied to your gas account.
  • This credit will appear as a line item on your next bill.
  • This credit is subject to you supplying us with your registered volunteer firefighter identification number.
  • This credit is only available once per supply address, is not transferable, and cannot be exchanged for cash. The volunteer firefighter does not need to be the account holder but they do need to be living in the supply address linked to the account.
  • In the event that the value of the credit exceeds the total amount of your gas or electricity bill the remainder of the credit will be applied to your Alinta Energy account.
