FAQs

Our prices are changing to reflect the increasing costs associated with retailing energy to customers in the current global climate.

The new tariff changes are reflective of CPI of 7% (National Average CPI).

CPI measures the change over time in the prices paid for consumer goods and services. The annual percentage change in CPI is used as a measure of inflation. Most industries review CPI changes and increase costs by a minimum of CPI on a yearly basis.

Natural gas in WA continues to remain competitively priced – despite this increase, gas remains one of the cheapest energy sources for households.

Our prices remain 2.5% below the maximum prices allowed under the Gas Tariffs Regulations.

Alinta Energy is not anticipating another price rise this financial year. Natural gas continues to remain competitively priced.

The most recent change to our prices was in August 2022. At that time, we increased our prices by 2.5%, less than half of the 5.1% CPI increase allowed under the Gas Tariffs Regulations.

The ‘Account Service Fee’ covers some of the cost of servicing and managing your account, and ensures you continue to benefit from our local customer service team.
