Energy isn’t just infrastructure – it’s people, passion and purpose. What truly energises us? The stories and people connected to the work we do.

As we gear up for delivery at the Reeves Plains Energy Hub, our team is growing. A few weeks into her new role, we asked Mika Chimedbaatar about what it means to be part of shaping South Australia’s energy future.

Meet Mika

I’m Mika Chimedbaatar, Project Administrator for the Reeves Plains Energy Hub Project.

I play a key role in keeping the project running smoothly including end-to-end administration support. This involves scheduling, preparing reports, and maintaining project documents. In short, I support the team in every possible aspect throughout the project.

A strong background

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Management. I have experience in engineering and project environments having worked across mining, construction, and energy sectors. These have been in roles spanning scheduling, cost control, contract administration, and project-level stakeholder engagement.

More recently, I’ve focused on project support roles, deepening my interest in renewable energy and infrastructure.

Mika stands in a dry, grassy field wearing a grey jacket with reflective stripes. Behind her, an industrial structure—possibly a conveyor belt or bridge—stretches across the landscape under an overcast sky, with distant hills in the background.

I was drawn to the Reeves Plains Energy Hub Project because it will play a real role in South Australia’s renewable energy transition. From recruitment to day one, the process was kind and welcoming.

A little about me

I was born in Mongolia. I started in engineering and mining at a company called Erdenet Mining Corporation before moving to Australia. Outside work I stay active, love cooking, and enjoy exploring new places.

The drawcard

I was drawn to the Reeves Plains Energy Hub Project because it will play a real role in South Australia’s renewable energy transition. From recruitment to day one, the process was kind and welcoming. The project and Adelaide teams made me feel at home straight away.

It really is exciting to be part of a project that will strengthen South Australia’s energy security and supports the path to net zero. The team’s collaboration and support already make my work engaging and rewarding.

Looking ahead

The energy industry is changing fast. I’m excited to be part of shaping a more sustainable future for the next generations.
