Being Honest
About where Australia’s
energy comes from.
Jason Clarke from Desert Run, a civil contractor in Western Australia, knows firsthand the difference a long-term energy project can make for a local business. What started as a straightforward working relationship has grown into a longstanding relationship — one that’s supported steady work and helped his business grow.
When Jason launched Desert Run in 2019, he was a one-man operation. Today, it’s a small team supporting work across the Dandaragan Shire, including for Alinta Energy. “Since then, we’ve grown to a team of three full-time employees.”
Consistent work at Yandin Wind Farm has been part of that growth — from road maintenance and drainage, rehabilitation of washed-out areas, equipment hire as well as asphalt works. “We’ve built a strong working relationship with Alinta Energy. They know they can call on us to be on site quickly and help repair any problems that may arise. That trust has helped us grow as a small local business,” he said.
For Jason, it’s the long-term nature of the work that really. “Knowing these projects are here for 30 years, with more in the area coming, I want to support Alinta as they grow as well. It’s a win-win for everyone!”
